The vote is in and for the second year running, agents and employees voted to make Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Starck Real Estate a Top Workplace in Chicago! “This award sets us apart in a powerful way from our competitors,” stated Aaron Starck, CEO and president of Starck, “Being a Top Workplace reflects our core values of being caring, charitable, and acting with integrity.” Starck’s focus is on creating a culture of cooperation and respect that empowers brokers and employees to be the best that they can be.
Starck is a 60-year-old family-run affiliate of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices that has built a reputation for its culture of caring for its brokers, employees, and for the communities it serves. Of the 1500 Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices offices worldwide, Starck is 24th in collecting donations for Sunshine Kids with Cancer. Giving back is an integral part of the Starck culture and it energizes the whole company. In 2021 Starck raised a total of $129,000 for over 30 charities.
The management team is on a first-name basis with employees and brokers, making themselves accessible to assist with any concern, whether it’s personal or professional. They write personal notes to recognize accomplishments or console them during rough times.
“We are here to listen and find solutions for our people,” says Jim Toulon, COO, “When a new broker comes on board, we welcome them into the Starck family and it truly is like a second family.” Some brokers and employees have been with Starck their entire careers.
Top Workplaces is an independent survey commissioned by The Chicago Tribune each year. All employees and brokers were polled anonymously in May by a third party Energage, a workplace survey and improvement specialist firm, and the results were released on November 4th by The Chicago Tribune. In total, 313 Chicago area companies participated and Starck placed 8th in the midsize firm category.
Starck has 604 brokers and employees in 20 offices throughout Chicagoland, Rockford, and Wisconsin.
